Power snatch that thang!

OK so 2015 has been a year full of constant action for me. It started a bit slow but approaching the end of January and thing are in motion. I have 2 months, well 1.5 months before I head out to Manila and Singapore for the Magner's International Comedy Festival for my shows as well as competing at the Magner's International Comedy Festival Competition, followed by a month-long in Melbourne for the Melbourne Comedy Festival! Yes, this will be the first time I've been out of Hong Kong for literally more than 4 weeks.
I'm excited yet a bit worried about it, mostly because I've never been out for like a month! I mean looking back from New Year's day till today is 1 month and man a lot has happened!

On a brighter note, at least a lot of my work and stuff all falls within the dates I'm in Hong Kong, so I'm very glad that is working out.

So January has been a great month with myself working hard and staying on track with work, allowing myself a lot more play time than before (I've played games like Shank 2, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, etc.) with my kick ass Razer Sabertooth game controller (seriously, games with a controller are 100x more fun!)
When I'm not sitting back gaming, I've got myself hooked on to The Walking Dead along with a whole bunch of other comedy shows. And finally I've started learning different weightlifting/olympic lifting moves. Just learned the Power Snatch move.
Immensely addictive when you're practicing the technique of the movement, but very, very satisfying when you get it right.
But man, the month I'm traveling, I'm going to have to figure something out so I don't lose all the training I've done so far.

So it's hard to believe the month is already over, but it's been a good start to 2015 and I've already got some crazy things lined up for the year, so here's to having a great 10 days ahead for everyone and hey, if you haven't set out to learn something new, go for it, New Years is always like trial-run, Chinese New Year is when the real resolutions kick in, but as habits already!
God for it!

18 January 2015

2015 has still "just started"!?

OK, let's get to some sort of agreement where we need to decide at what point it's no longer "Happy New Year" anymore. I'm still hearing people say and even email "Happy New Year" and we're more than halfway through January.. We're technically already 5% into the new year!

Anyway, so I hope 2015 has been smooth sailing or at least fun sailing so far. It's been interesting as I've had to deal with a lot of sudden things as well as accept that I'm getting older and thus colder where I no longer can power through the cold in t-shirt and shorts... I managed to get myself a fever last week from being in the cold too long...heh. So now I'm still dealing with a lingering cough.

So 2015 has been busy but not too busy, in the sense I'm not losing my mind (and sleep) dealing with things. One of my resolutions -- to play more computer games (yes, I actually made that a resolution) is coming well. I am totally loving my Razer Sabertooth game controller. Like it's ridiculous how much a controller has improved the joy of my games...especially racing games. I've found though, it's still not as good as a mouse + keyboard combo when it comes to first person shooters....but racing, 2D side scrolling games are 100x better with this.

At the same time I've started watching Walking Dead. Interesting show, just started season 2, have to say the acting is bad and some of the writing is quite corny, but heck,  it's zombies!! ZOMBIES!!!! But at 1 hour per episode, I find myself watching it at bite-size chunks at most....

So my quest to automate my phone has gone up another level, where I've installed GMD Gesture Control. Being able to record your own gestures and basically run them from anywhere is intense stuff.
So if you're all geeky like that, check out that app, very cool stuff.

Alright, it's lunch time and the weather is fantastic today..nice and cool but not rainy/humid! Better not waste it sitting here typing.

Enjoy!

Automate to the new year!

Hello everyone and happy new year! I hope 2015 has kick started to greatness already for you all!
So far, the year has been great, but then again we're only 2 days into it heh.

In the last few days of 2014, I took it upon myself to not only make my life more efficient, but to make sure I combine enjoyment with efficiency and pleasure with productivity. So off I went with my little adventure and guess what, with my trusty OnePlus One phone, I began to explore the world of Tasker (I've had this app for a long time, but only recently really started breaking it apart), then later combined it with WemoManager (for all my Belkin Wemo devices) and then recently Autovoice and a few nifty IFTTT recipes. OK so I think I may have gone a little too crazy, but boy it's awesome knowing a bunch of things are now hands-free. Not to mention I'm saving a tonne of electricity as well on things like exhaust fans for my storage units. Speaking of storage units, so my QNAP NAS decided to die..well it didn't die, the power cable died and guess what, this particular model uses a proprietary power cable adapter so it's super duper hard to find a replacement and I ended up ordering one via eBay (still waiting for it to arrive)... oh man I hate proprietary stuff. I mean, I get it but man does it annoy me.

Now that I have my android devices all tweaked up, using my iPad has become quite limiting really.. not to mention I can't share all my Android apps on the iPad but the level of customization is very, very low compared to an Android.

So here I am, on the 2nd of Jan 2015. I can't believe it's already 2015, this number was quite a far away number in my mind a few years ago when I was first starting things, like my comedy career when it first started in 2007 (!!!).

Anyway, so here's wishing everyone an absolutely fantastic 2015, whatever happens, just make sure there are no regrets. Even mistakes, make 'em, don't regret 'em.
