This tops it all
I have to say, out of all the great things that have happened to me in 2008, this has topped it all. Check this out this entry on Cantophilia!
I thought my comedy on YouTube with over 100,000 views topped my list of accomplishments but I was proved wrong when I stumbled upon this site and realized that someone took one of my bits, broke it down, transcribed it, added "ping yum" and used it as material to teach people Cantonese. The best thing is that foreign-born Chinese people are learning Cantonese from a HongKong-born foreigner! Talk about a totally twisted reality! :)
I look forward to more weird, hilarious encounters in the future! Thank you Cantophilia, it was a good move, yes I agree with you!

Hello Vivek.
Its not just foreign-born chinese but also foreign-born non-chinese who learn Cantonese. I watched your videos in English and Cantonese and was highly impressed with your English. You have no Chinglish accent what-so-ever. Thanks for you reply on youtube a few hours ago.
You also seem to say "anyway" quite often in your cantonese which is weird since I've not heard any Chinese people say it in this frequency or in Chinese.
I'm also wondering if Chinese people continuously praise your Cantonese throughout your life... eg. 7-11, OK shop etc.
Did you have people discriminate you when growing up?
I always wanted to meet the Indians in TST but they keep trying to sell suits then to be friends.
Anyway, you're very funny! I hope you win 2008 too!
Hey Milan,
Thanks for visiting my blog and checking out my YouTube clup :) I stand corrected, anyone/thing that wants to learn Cantonese.
I think I said anyway a lot because I was extremely nervous that night and also my brain was thinking half in English and half in Chinese. It's a weird combination for me, I think I do say "anyway" in English during my Chinese conversations with my friends.
I got discriminated but thanks to all that, I have comedic material, so it was all good! :)
As for the Indians in TST, ahaha you should approach them and say "I'll buy a suit if you can sell me your friendship" :P That'll probably make them stare at you speechless :)
Thanks! I look forward to all the humor 2008 has to bring!
Hiphopapophappy Vday V ;P
Thanks. Happy V-day to you too... a fan :)
